Greetings from South Pacific to the PNW

Postby IslandStorm62 » Tue May 21, 2013 11:41 am

Hi all,
I just recently retired from Military Service and am looking forward to a more relaxed life. I believe a Tear Drop will give me the flexibility to "Pop Smoke" and "Drop In" on a whim. For that dream to be realized...I need help  . I've been thinking and dreaming about a trailer for awhile, and have just made the decision to start. I suppose I should start a journal to track materials, costs and challenges; maybe even an album. As I have already read a few posts, I believe I can find excellent and useful advice from the members. So, thanks to all.

Welcome! I'm retired Navy. I had lots of fun building my Generic Benroy. Check out the free plans. Even if you decide to build a different Tear, they will give you some idea of the building process.

Welcome IslandStorm62

You're in good company here. I retired out of the Air Fart 8 year ago, been working a bit and camping
in my Minivan. I bought a little used woody teardrop just to see if I can camp in it before going full out
on a build. I love it.

TPMcGinty is right about looking into the free benroy planes. The assembly and techniques are about the
same. Only the side profiles are different. I’m planning a Benroy ( with a few mods ) my self. It will be a
slow build on a retired budget but fun.

Welcome again to the forums and any question just ask.

Good to hear from you. I'll look at the Benroy again. I just finished looking the design library and was leaning "towards the trailer for two". Still have'n't decided.

All so look at the Hall of fame picture gallery link at the very top. One picture of each TD the forums
member own. Little slow to load some times but a good overview of the TD form the users.

What graphics program do you use for your diagrams?
