Hello from Idaho!

Well, a 1957 cardinal 16 footer followed me home the other day. I fell in love at first sight! Hubby and I have removed the doors and I pulled up the carpet someone installed and ran into a floor heater! That was the first of many surprises. Old linoleum is up and we opened up the front to repair the rot etc. the one thing I didn't anticipate is the birch on the kitchen is separating from the framing. Anyone have any ideas? Hubby and I are handy but we're not sure how to repair this.

Do you have any pictures? Is everything still there? Is it still clean?

Starting with a less obvious area to test...

Its often possible to use heat to reactivate glue in this situation. If
it is clean under the lifted veneer use an iron and a dry towel to heat
up the bond. Keep the iron moving so that you do not scorch the wood.

If there is a problem with dirt under the veneer you will need to lift
or remove some of it and clean it out. Then try the heat again.

If it is not working with the heat you will need someone to test the
type of glue it is to find a compatible.

Good luck with the restoration. :)
