My Teardrop

Postby harry j » Mon Apr 29, 2013 6:38 pm

Hey, ya'll! This is a wonderful, and informative site! I've been lurking on it for a couple weeks, as well as youtube and most of the teardrop sites I could find on my cheap "puter. After much honest consideration, I decided that building a TD is, for now, not feasible. Due to a heart condition/defibrillator implant, little carpentry skill, and the near impossibility of finding a good trailer to build on. [I've studied HF, NT, and finding a local welder, etc.]. And, no garage, port or awning to work in. So...tomorrow we're driving up to BECkleys Camping Center in Maryland,[from Charlottesville, va], and picking up my new 5x8 Silver Shadow! Yesterday, I spent most of the afternoon reading about leak problems on little guys, on this site, mostly from '06-'09. Does anyone have information that they've corrected this? Watching the video about attaching the awning on a little guy, looked like the galley hinge had a rubber gasket/ cover thing over the hinge...At any rate, I can get my deposit back, but I doubt if I will. Bringing my camera along..
I had a 15' Parkliner FG camper, but it was, IMHO, more than I needed to drag around the country with my 4 cyl tacoma. I think a teardrop will work fine for me, and let someone else clean the outhouse/facility!!
Wish me luck, and hopefully, I'll have some pics soon...

Harry,

Welcome aboard.
We are relatively new to Teardrops and have not been disappointed in any way. They sure are a great way of getting about the countryside.
You enjoy !

Take it easy.

Lets do a three sixty and get out of here !

Hey Harry J

Any status on a Teardrop campers yet? ( as I giggle to myself, Harry J sounds like a Porn star's name from
the 80’s ) Keep us informed, and we love to see pictures, of the Teardrop at least and not anything you might
of done in the 80’s.
:R

PS welcome aboard :)

Thanks for the reply & sorry I haven't replied sooner! Haven't been here much of late. I did get the 5x8 little guy i mentioned and am very happy with it. Only, I haven't used it extensively. I'm now working on an awning/canopy for it, made from pvc pipe and a tarp.
Heading up to Pennsylvania in a week or so for Briggs Farm Blues Festival, camping onsite, good blues, etc. & etc.
I wasn't a porn star in the 80's, j is merely a middle initial. Can't tell ya who harry is- Big Brother watching an all....
Happy Independence Day ya'll!!
