Intro from Van Isle

Postby rtaggart » Wed Jul 17, 2013 10:41 pm

Hi there,

Just an introduction. I am considering a build of a "Standie" that would have mild off raod abilities and be able to to be ued 3 seasons a year.

I am thinking a a hybrid of Austrailian off road trailer and Boller. 12 to 13 feet, queen size and two bunks for my son and staorage and eventualy a buddy etc. Galley would be a pull out drawer from passenger side of the trailer.

I would love to see if there are other machines that meet the description (or near) to ocompare notes. I have been poking around the site and have seen some fantastic work looking forward to learning lots.

Thanks so much for haveing a comunity like this for those of us that aren't ok with the vanilla of the majority of the products out there.

Hello Richard, welcome to the forum. There is a bunch of info on this site, and as a matter of fact, there is a member that is probably a neighbor of yours in Penticton, Canada. There is an active group of campers up there, teadroppers and vintage trailer buffs, and can be contacted by checking out the Tearjerkesr group in your neck of the woods. As a matter of fact, Brian is here in So Calif at my place, right now. I'll talk to him and see if he can direct you to folks that can give you a heads up, regarding your build. Good luck, and hopefully, you will get involved and join many of us, as we travel to various teardrop and standy trailer gatherings in the western US.

Howdy neighbour. You've found a great bunch of folks.
