Newcomer from Surprise Arizona

Postby darrellbeck » Thu Sep 05, 2013 2:07 pm

Hello, Everyone!
First I will tell you about me: My name is Darrell and I just turned 70. I'm married (almost 49 yrs) to an amazingly tolerant woman named Cheryl, and I am getting ready to start on my first teardrop. I will be building it in my garage, so I am waiting for a little cooler weather, as we are still above 100 degrees most days.
What I plan to build is a 5x10 loosely based on the Benroy plans from this site' and built from the ground up by us. This will be a major change for us as our last camper was a 34ft diesel pusher that we used in Cheryl's business, and we put almost a quarter million miles on it. I think that a teardrop will be more fun, even with the obvious limitations.
I am somewhat handicapped (due to an error made by a hospital and it's staff) and this will be ideal to carry our GoGo scooters. Cheryl uses one also due to a bad knee.
We intend to take a month long vacation when it is done, mostly up the west coast, then across to South Dakota to visit relatives, then back down to AZ.

That looks like a nice one, but I already have a lot of stuff collected. Plus, like I said, I want to build everything from the ground up.
