New guy on the block!

Postby schon1 » Tue Sep 17, 2013 5:31 am

Hello there! My name is Schon from Rock Island IL. Stumbled on this forum when i started doing research to convert my 2004 Haulmark Transport band wagon to a camper.Last year i bought a Coachman Captiva from a dealership with some water damage, thinking it was going to be an easy repair job.Gutted the interior and ripped out 75% of the floor and installed new joist.Upon further inspection i found that i opened a can of worms and the entire front wall, back wall and roof was soaked and retaining water like a sponge. So here i am thinking "Wow what a waste of time and money" Thank goodness i didn't pay very much for this.So due to time constraint and of course $$$$,i thought that this was going to be a total loss. Then a little light came on and i realized i was sitting on gold a mine of parts to do the conversion. So i took what i needed for parts and gave the ole' axe to the water logged Captiva. And so here we go with a new project......Will be showing pics of the the tear down and the start of the conversion on my Cargo trailer.

Looks pretty big for a Teardrop project. Or even a cargo conversion.
An old tent trailer may have been a better donor?
But, Good Luck with your new project and Welcome to the TnTTT. :applause:
