Hey all, Ive recently aquired a 1960's FAN tt. Its an 18' canned ham style trailer our friends sold us after our tajma tent failed us by not keeping the rain out one final time. Ive got alot of work ahead of me but fortunately my wife, our three kids and I are all about minimalism! We're installing a do-it-yourself composting toilet (mostly completed by our friends before we got it), planning on running a couple of 12 v fans and lights off of a solar panel and battery. my wife is upgrading the upholstery. And we've got a few other tricks up our sleeves we're hoping to bring to light as the adventures continue. I look forward to sharing and learning from the wealth of knowledge on this forum. Im near the Harrisburg area. We've been tenting in Gifford Pinchot, Hickory Run, and Rickets Glenn state parks and really like those so far. We are also starting to do some kayaking and have done some good day hiking. We usually drag the kids bike along if not ours too. These are some of the considerations that we keep in mind as we work on our FAN. I am putting a 2" receiver on the bumper of the fan for our bike rack and thinking of having some way to mount the kayaks on top of the camper for those trips. Further cconsiderations are that we removed the propane stove/oven (but are still keeping it possible future use, sorry for those of you on the prowl for one), and are replacing it with a 3 burner unit our neighbor let us scavange from his pop-up. We dont have a fridge but do have an ice box our friend scavanged from his neighbors pop-up lol. Like I said, we are working minimalist for this camper, but ill keep everyone posted with all the dirty bits as it progresses in other posts. In advance, thank you for your patience, indulgance and understanding! I'm sorry to say, it may be needed as I'm new to this amd more ummm, creative at times than is good for me! Ttfn
