Newbie, research for a family TD

Postby Gunguy05 » Mon Dec 02, 2013 9:06 pm

I'm just checking in. I'm new to tear drops. I have a lot to learn, but we like to tent camp as a family and am looking to take things up a notch. Never thought a TD was possible with 2 adults a 1 yr, and 4 yr old. BUT. I have been doing some research and it looks like their are more options than I thought. I have been browsing popup campers for a while, but never really looked into the TD until a relative bought one a few weeks ago.

Looking to learn, so if anyone has experience with family camping in a TD, please send me any advice you might have. I'm all ears.

Looking forward to it all.
Brian

Welcome to the forum. I can't direct you to the exact post but there are a number of posts and builds of tears with a bed and two bunks. I can tell you for sure you will build great memories with your family camping in your tear. Best of luck. Lee and Norma

I've been looking at both the campster 12 and the 2 + 2 high models. Also, I saw the campinn 560 series. I wonder if there have been any home made versions of that one built?

After more research I really like the looks of the camp Inn raindrop. I've seen a couple build threads that are in progress. Does anyone know of a homemade build that has been completed for that design? I'm thinking about stretching it to 6ft wide and 5ft tall cabin would give us a little more room and still be manageable.
