Newbie td owner.

Hello tnttt peeps!
I'm a total newbie in NH, and this is my very first post. My teardrop's name is twayla. I picked her up off craig'slist the end of last summer.
I have only used her once before it got too cold. LOVED IT! I knew I would. I'm glad this site is here so I can connect on all that there
is to learn.
Twayla has not been personalized fully yet. Considering some graphics, hand painting. She is a hand crafted wooden critter. I am very
excited for warmer weather. I'm thinking since winter came too soon that it will pass in the same manner...wishful thinking, I know.
I'm not good in these sites in figuring out how to post pics. I'll get there.

OK, new teardrop owner, good for you, finding our wonderful forum to enlighten you about the wonders of teardrop trailer using and ownership. First off, I would suggest you get involved with many other TD owners, by connecting to the Tear-Jerkers Chapter in your area. There are many teardrop and tiny travel trailer gatherings, that I am sure that you will find interesting, plus a wonderful way to meet other like-minded trailer owners and users. After all, we are like one great big family of campers, unlike the big boys.

As a matter of fact, since it is so cold in your neck of the woods, I am inviting you to head West and enjoy some of our Southern California weather. There is ample TD parking in my lengthy driveway, and the coffee is always on. In the past, I have been invited to various other 'back East' teardropper's residences, and I only want to pay it forward to others of like interests. Consider it, and who knows, it might just happen. Where else can you go to the local mountains for some great snow skiing in the morning, enjoy a scenic hike in hidden valleys and have lunch in the local mountains, take a stroll in the warm desert sun, do some ocean surf boarding in the afternoon and catch Disney Land later in the evening, then perhaps top it off with a romantic dinner in a fine Hollywood eatery?

Come on out, the weather's fine. By the way, what do you have in mind regarding the personalizing your trailer? We all do it, so come on, join the club. Most of us have some sort of theme, mine being, "Hey, I am a bit different from all of the rest of you!" The life of a teardropper is one that cherishes the meeting of new friends, sharing a bit of wine around a campfire and never being judgemental regarding the type of camping unit that others may take a liking to, as there are rarely two alike. You will never meet a stranger in a TD gathering, only new friends. By the way, if you enjoy dutch oven dinners, get involved in that aspect too, many of us cook up killer dutch oven meals you might enjoy. Stick your nose into as many TD rigs as you like, you will only get smiles from the owners.

Where did you ever get the name Twayla, some pics would be nice, if you can figure out how to post them.........unlilke me?

Welcome to the wonderful world of teardrops. We are not as new as yourself, with two years under our belt, but still learning from those who have been doing it for a long time. As others have noted, these folks on this forum and TearJerkers are full of knowledge and very willing to help out, even to offering a place to park when you are in their area or letting you know the better campsites in their area.

Welcome!
When I saw the name I though it read tchwala, pronounced ch-wala. It is Zulu for beer. The party TD....

You'll find this form tremendous. I have.

twayla is a generic name i came up with because I knew I would put some graphics upon this blank wood canvas and did not want to get too cute.
A little kid who can't pronounce their "r's" and lives in New England might sound like "twayla" = "trailer" It makes me laugh.
Thanks for the very kind and welcoming responses. I have attempted to join the NH chapter but with no luck yet passing the registration bit and not hearing back from the site.
In terms of graphics, I sort of have a theme started. A "run-away- from home Snoopy"..only in the aspect that i've decorated the softer side of my td with bandanas (which snoopy had tied to his run away stick). so bandanas make up my two window curtains, my inner storage shelf curtains that covers the whole face of the shelf. AND~ my galley kitchen has a lower storage area that I covered with bandana curtains as well. It looks ok for now.
I was thinking of painting the whole td with a scene of blue sky/ clouds towards the top with mountains and meadow grass towards the bottom. Totally undecided.
