Re: Teardrop Trailer to live in.

Welcome to the world of teardrops. I hear you with living in one. I don't see why not especially if you are young and agile. Are you going to build a 4' wide or 5' wide. If I were you I'd try to do a 5' wide just for the room. For simplicity how about the "weekender", no round shapes to deal with and a lot simpler body lines. Larry

Welcome Geek and company! Good for you for having a dream. Go for it. Keep your build simple. There is no reason you can't enjoy it. To give you an idea, mine was a simple design and built with all materials coming from either Lowe's or Home Depot. Including trailer, I have about $1800 in my project. I used the Northern Tool 5x8 utility trailer as a base for mine. My carpentry skills were minimal, so many "stop and redo" occasions. I spent a year working on it a little each week and buying materials a little at a time. I have made three trips in my camper and each time I find something I want to change to make it more enjoyable and easier for me to enjoy. You can do it. You are young and full of boundless enthusiasm and energy. This forum has a wealth of experience to share and all of the members are willing to answer any questions you have. We are all of the same mind; we enjoy the camaraderie of fellow "glampers" and enjoying what nature has to offer.

Welcome to the forum. If yall are gonna live in a tear I would most certainly try to have a good awning of some sort. I use one of those 10x10 easy up tents when I set up for more than a couple days. They are easy to store and easy to put up. You can add screen walls and have a great lounging area. My next build will have an outdoor TV hatch that I can open up and watch it from outside. For camping a night or two its not a nessesity for a tv, but if ur living in it u r gonna want a place to unwind. Its soooo nice to have my kitchen and all my stuff set up under the tent, out of the rain and dew and not have to put everything up at night.
