Hello from Arkansas A newb with Redneck Tendencies

Hi everybody,

My name is Duane and The Wife is Helen. We've been aivid campers for a long time. {think 20+ years} Camped in just about everything and once in nothing, lol.

Well I be lurkin round this board now for about 6 months or so thinkin that I could build a tear. Thought I had better either jump in or forget it. So last week I found this trailer out behind a mechanics shop, talked to the owner and bought it for 25 dollars.



What a deal! I had a beautiful dream of building a cool custom tear that the Wife and I could use to get out of the tent. Tired of gettin wet. BTW it ALWAYS rains when I arrive at the campsite.

Anyway I get home all excited to show my Wife the trailer and to tell her that we finally gonna get a tear. Did I mention that I had a beautiful dream? And the first thing She did was to give me a list.

Here is her list.
1.) Must have a potty room {In a tear?}
2.) Must be able to stand to get dressed {In a tear?}
3.) Must have a full kitchen {In a tear?}

Does anybody else see my dream going down the drain?

Anyway just thought I'd say hi, I posted a pic of the trailer and there are more of it in my gallery. If anybody might have a clue about what popup this might have been under I would be most grateful. There is nothing stamped on the trailer anywhere that I can find.

Oh one more thing Did I mention that I had a Dream?

My wife tried to get me to put a potty in the Tiny Trailer we are building. I vetoed the idea, saying any where we camp will have showers and a restroom facility. and if we were boon docking, we would use the bushes. my wife being only 5'-0", the 5'-8" inside height is adequate.

what are the dimensions of the trailer you scored? looks like a good start.

We have a portable potty. We used to set up a pup tent to put it in when we were somewhere without bathrooms being close by.

Welcome to site. Remember it was a dream and when you start building it you can make it your way, but it is a tear the rest rooms is down the road and the kitchen is in the back and she can stand you vertical and pull up those jeans. Oh when you wake up from this dream make sure she is on the same page as you are with the build.

She is 175" tip to tail and 53" wide.

Yea I tried with that same logic, and I got the eyes and the "but honey". So looks like I'll be buildin a standy. Which is cool, at least we will be outta the tent which is a plus to me. Also I've already seen some really good idea's that I can ...ummmm.. borrow and tweak a bit. Course Redneck and Tweak are two words that have yet to go together in one sentence.

Where there is a will theres a way. Dream big, get to sketching with different floor plans. You might be surprised what brain storms you'll come up with.
