Newbie from Southern CA

Hello all, I found this site and became obsessed! I am planing on building a TD on a HF 4 x 8. It is currently on sale for $369, and I can use a coupon for %20 off that, so I guess it is meant to be. When I car camped years ago, I built the "camp-o-box". It had everything I need in one place, pull out shelves, drawers, pipes for free standing, and a place for everything!
My adult son was looking at some of my sample galley designs and said, "Hey that is like your camp-o-box on steroids!" I really have no need for this, as friends and family folks have lost the desire to "rough it". Somehow I feel requirement to build it. I have spent many hours last week drawing all sorts of plans, wiring diagrams (mostly solar charged small battery). I REALLY had fun!

Welcome aboard from another So Cal TDer. If you can make it up to Hurkey Creek this weekend, walkins are always welcome and you won't ever meet a friendlier bunch. Hurkey is about a half an hour East of Hemet. So if your place in So Cal is close, come on up, check out some neat teardrops and meet some new friends.

Hi Granirerich,
You've got it real bad. So Cal is TD. Commercial production started there and the history is thick. Great builders near you who are as wise and kind as talented. Fine tune and add exrtra's later. You have the opportunity to create your hearts desire. How can you rush that? The additions and upgrades to the "Let's get it done now and enjoy it " model can take forever so start now. A GD TD? OMG. It would be a first to my knowledge?
Enjoy, Chris
