Survival Trike and camper dreams in Wi

Postby VikingOx » Sat Sep 20, 2014 10:59 am

Hello All,
Everyone calls me Ox. I am a newbie to the world of tiny campers. I come to the table with a decent knowlage of reading blueprints, fabrication, welding, motorcycle/small engine mechanics. I plan on building a lightweight multiuse camper that will be able to be pulled behind both my shovelhead trike (1340cc) and my 4x4 Ranger or something of the sort. My trike is styled after the old servicar military 45'S with a pinch of Viking thrown in. So I want my camper to be of the same style, been thinking of a mixture of a few of the plans we have here... Done a bit of homework already. Here for advice and guidence. Has anyone used lightweight steel tubing for your skeleton? Pros/Cons?
Cheers

Welcome Ox! If you wanted to see a bunch of Teardrops in one place you should check out the Camp Inn Camp Out gathering in Necedah Wisconsin this next weekend. There is a good chance to see some nice Tears.

Hi Ox,

Welcome to the forum. Your proposed method has been used by several
members. Use the "Google Custom Search" feature on the bottom of the
header and try several versions of your topic, e.g. 'steel tube framing', etc.
You'll probably have to check out quite a few of the results to find what you
want, but that's just how it goes.

One that comes to mind off-hand is:
Check out this member alaska teardrop's builds:
One is: New Northern Lite Traveler:
