Noob From the UK... IYA!!!!

Good Afternoon everyone...

I am a rather exciteable chap from a little known country called Scotland :) I live in Glasgow with my wife and I stumbled onto this site purely by a chance set of videos I was watching about woodworking on Youtube.

My woodworking skills are limited, but I love it and I am keen.
I have no workshop or driveway so space is also limited.
I have all the creative flair of a large brick.

But hey I love coming on here and looking at everyones build journals, there are some amazing designs and defo no two teardrops are ever the same.

I would love to build a TD myself some day but there are many things I have to do first, like sort my house out as it is a doo-er upperer  But in a few years, once it is done I also hope that I can find a lock up or units that I can use as a workshop for woodworking and also a place my wife can also do her upholstery of old furniture.

There are so many things I need to learn and I have come to the right place to lean, stripping a frame, rust proofing it, shapes, dimensions and build techniques. I also away from this forum have a keen interest in AV setup, so if I ever get a chance at building a TD then I would defo want to incorporate that into a build as well (nothing too crazy though as the outdoors is what matters).

Keep up the good work everyone, loving everyones work on here.

Hello, weegieavlover.
I watch The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson over here and I know he is originally from a town near Glasgow, so I shall imagine that you sound like him after he's been back there for a long vacation. (Otherwise his director and producer insist that he try to sound more American. A shame, because I find the accent charming.)

One thing I've noticed on this forum is that frequently after someone says they want to build a teardrop but won't have time to do it for awhile, somehow by magic a trailer shows up in their neighborhood that is such a good deal that it's almost free. Then a few weeks later there's a build thread with photos of a teardrop shape taking form, and next thing we know the poster is heading out on the road for an adventure, even if the TD isn't quite finished yet.
It's just really difficult to resist the lure of teardrops after you start looking at them! :)

Even for people like my husband and me who are planning to buy rather than build, this site is full of excellent info about the many, many ways teardrops can be put together and used. Plus you won't find anywhere a more friendly and knowledgeable group for answering questions and giving useful advice.

Good luck!
