Hello from Georgia

Postby 13ptbuck » Mon Oct 06, 2014 9:08 am

I am new to teardrops but have been around popups and travel trailers my entire life. My brother inlaw is giving me an old popup. I should have it in two weeks. I plan to salvage everything I can from it and srap everything else and roll that money back into the build. I may also be getting an old Scotty given to me an get it this weekend and do the same with it. I just need to get a plan together before I get to far ahead of myself and make some mistakes.

Are there many people from Georgia on the board? I would love to check out a TD in person. But it looks like most pepole are out west from me.

Welcome aboard! I live about 30 miles or so from you and there are lots of other teardrop and campers on here from Georgia and Alabama. You are welcome to visit me any time. I have built my TD out of foam and canvas. you are welcome to take a look see, my build is Grits in the Foamie section. I have been on here quite a while and have seen a lot of different builds. I will help all I can. If I can't help the people(guys and gals) here on the forum can. My name is Mary and I live near exit 5 on I 20 (the first exit in GA) or (Last exit in GA) going west so I don't live that far. There are two fellow forum members who live in Dallas too. One in Hiram and several out in the country. So you are not alone. Welcome again and please let me have a look at the Scotty before you demo it. Again Welcome!!!

I have not seen the Scoty in about six years. I know the inside was remodeled years ago by my father inlaw. The interior is not original. He just used it for storage and a place to take a nap when hunting. I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet. After I get it home I will check it out to see how bad of shape it is in.
