I am still a newbie as well but have found some wonderfully friendly and helpful people on this site.
I too have been in construction all my life and building cabinets and furniture. I am sure your background will make a lot of the build much easier for you!
I thought I would say Hi as many people did the same for me just recently.
Good Luck! Enjoy retirement and look forward to seeing what you build.

John W wrote:Hi Rob, San Antonio here too. You have a great leg up with all the construction experience. There is a huge wealth of knowledge on this forum. Any question you have can be answered here. We have the benefit of many great State Parks in which to camp within 2 hours of SA. My build has been 2 years in the making. You can measure my carpentry skills by the teaspoonful, so it has been many oops and redoes. If your fear is you don't know what you want, come up with a design and start building. Everytime I go out, I make a punch list of changes and modifications to make the experience more enjoyable. My original premise was to create an environment more comfortable than the tent I was used to camping in. In the immortal words "git er done!" and have fun. Welcome to what may very well be life changing.
