Howdy from San Antonio Texas

Hello everyone....My name is Rob and my friend and love Jeannie and I are going to build our first TD. I'm retired and Jeannie is closing in fast. I spent 35 years in the construction industry and I hope that I can bluff my way through building our teardrop. Jeannie and I are in the planning stage now and TNTTT members have been a great source of inspiration and technical advice....We plan on touring our great state of Texas and beyond when the time comes.

I am still a newbie as well but have found some wonderfully friendly and helpful people on this site.
I too have been in construction all my life and building cabinets and furniture. I am sure your background will make a lot of the build much easier for you!
I thought I would say Hi as many people did the same for me just recently.

Hi Rob, San Antonio here too. You have a great leg up with all the construction experience. There is a huge wealth of knowledge on this forum. Any question you have can be answered here. We have the benefit of many great State Parks in which to camp within 2 hours of SA. My build has been 2 years in the making. You can measure my carpentry skills by the teaspoonful, so it has been many oops and redoes. If your fear is you don't know what you want, come up with a design and start building. Everytime I go out, I make a punch list of changes and modifications to make the experience more enjoyable. My original premise was to create an environment more comfortable than the tent I was used to camping in. In the immortal words "git er done!" and have fun. Welcome to what may very well be life changing.

Hey John ....Thanks for the welcome and the advice....Jeannie and I are in the planning stages right now and write down all and every idea we have. Having been in construction for many years I know the value of pre-planning....I'm trying to locate a local supplier that carries 60" wide aluminum sheets ....no luck yet. Your camper looks really good.
