New Guy from Florida

Postby Wrenchbender » Wed Sep 16, 2015 5:24 pm

Hi, I'm Dennis from Florida. I've recently retired from a full-time civilian job with the Air Force Reserve as an aircraft mechanic. Now I'm working at civil aviation MROs (Maintenance Repair Overhaul) facilities. These jobs are often short-term, so my wife remains at our home to work her hospital administration job and take care of our teenage son while I travel for work.

Staying in hotels ate up too much of my paychecks. So - as a retired military member - I've taken to tent camping at recreational campgrounds on military installations. As you can imagine, long-term tent camping can get old fast. So I've looked into getting a pop-up camper or small travel trailer as a more comfortable long-term solution. The trouble is that I don't have a lot of extra cash to spend. Anything in my price range is going to require work and further investment.

I came across teardrops in my research. This seems to be a viable solution to all of my problems and concerns. Now I'm here to learn more and get started.
