Hello from Canada

Postby Birdman » Thu Oct 22, 2015 6:56 am

Good day everyone.

My name is Tyler, i just started to modify my trailer (again).
I bought a 1969 tent trailer back 4yrs ago, i lifted it and put 31" military tires on it with a new axle.
I painted it the same color as my offroad rig and added some camo to make it even more different.
Problem with this tent trailer, it just takes to long to put up and my son was born back in Feb so i want something easier and simple that we can go out with.
Ill start a build thread shortly, but i will be turning the tent trailer to a hard top using the original sides.
Here is a pic of what i started with, then what it became and then a pic of what tows it. The truck is still going through changes as well, i just finished the solid axle swap.

Welcome to the fun. In 1972 my wife and I bought a brand new trailer similar to yours from a Wal Mart knock off called Magic Mart (long since gone). We paid 150.00 plus tax.
My dad thought I was crazy for spending that much money. He asked me how I paid for it and I told him 125.00 cash and the rest on a new fangled thing called a VISA card.
That made his neck veins really pop. We pulled it to Miami and back to Arkansas for a college graduation trip. It made three other trips to Orlando and numerous trips to Destin. We sold it in 1986 for 300.00. Your pictures brought back so many great memories. Enjoy your build.
