irgod32 wrote:@AZ_Desert_Rat, Yes I do have a design I'm working on. It's a form of a off road type trailer. It will be 57"'X96" cabin. It will have larger tires and a clearance of about 23" with the ability of raising it to match any height of off road vehicle. I'd like to come up with a design that our younger generation may like and want to build. Do you find any topics here that are interesting? If so, please share? Your ID is "AZ_Desert_Rat", do you live in the desert? What state are you in? Do you build TD?
Thanks
I was born and raised in Southern Arizona's high Desert (almost 4,000 feet); I spent most of my time as a kid (before 20) in the desert hunting, fishing, camping, and prospecting... After moving into Tucson and Then Phoenix, just about all my spare time was spent in the Desert Prospecting and camping... So be The AZ Desert Rat...
I retired in 2013 and moved to Minnesota so my wife could be closer to here Grand kids...So being a "Minnesota Transplant" ... I now make an annual "Pilgrimage" back to AZ to visit family, camp in the desert AND PROSPECT...
I recently sold my K-5 Blazer... it had 33" tires and was not lifted... the body/bumper clearance was ~24". I built my 6x10 Cargo Conversion specifically for off-road with additional framing, windows, insulation, roof vents, a galley and two removable cots. I ordered it with a straight axle in lieu of the conventional 4" drop, 3500# axle/suspension, and set the axle under the springs for extra clearance and ended up at ~24"... I never drug the trailer or had a problem going off road... It is not a "Rock Crawler", but goes where most don't... See Pics of the build posted in my gallery... It will be back in the Driveway this year to finish the interior as originally planned...
