Introduction from Marion, OH

Postby 2BsInAPod » Mon Apr 04, 2016 11:57 am

Hey folks, we're new here. We come out of Marion, OH and just purchased a Honda Goldwing (2008) with the intent to travel and camp...hence my subscription to this forum.

We're building a teardrop camping trailer that will be motorcycle-towable. I'm a huge fan of K.I.S.S. (NOT the band btw). We've started with a bolt-together 4x8 HF trailer and have purchased plywood. We'll be working through this project, keeping lots of pictures for a design journal, and also tracking the project with time-lapse photography. Here's the first part of the build. Not much to see yet, but we'll get there. I'll be adding a few different camera angles also.

Enjoy!

You might want to look over my 4x7 build as I tow it with my 86 Goldwing and my little Suzuki esteem.

I'm IMPRESSED! I'll have to take a closer look through that, but I'm a HUGE fan of upcycling and repurposing. I built my daughter's desk out of 70 books from Goodwill that I paid 10 cents each for, an old bifold door, some threaded rod, and a glass panel door that I cut down. It turned out BEAUTIFULLY! I like everything I've seen in that build thread. It is so cool to see what you used to do different things.

Why do you do the rabbetts on the spars instead of just putting a cleat in? Is it just to make it look cleaner?

Also, interested in telling me if you sold it yet and what you sold it for? (No is an acceptable answer to this one, I'm just curious!)

Thanks,

Brett
