Hello from Mountain Home, Idaho

Postby KrisA » Sun May 15, 2016 3:42 pm

Have been lurking on tntt for a couple of years. Finally got around to joining today.
Was originally planning to build, but came accross a good deal on a T@G and made the plunge.
We love camping in our teardrop. No more rocks in the middle of our backs.

Then I decided to build anyway, but it's a scale model of our T@G.
I built it inside out, as if it were the real thing - interior cabinets, etc.
No one will ever see them though, because I didn't create opening doors and hatch in the finished skin.
It's all scratch-built from hobby wood and plywood, except for the wheels and tires.
I might replace one side with transparent plastic to show the interior. Haven't decided yet.
I'll have to clear it with my helper.

I may yet build a full size teardrop someday too.

You bet!
I travel all over the PNW for work, and don't get to stop and smell the roses that often.
We bought our teardrop, rather than building on, but then I quite naturally set out to improve it.
But it's camping season now so I've put the tools away for a while.
Look forward to joining in with a group camping adventure.
Thanks for the reply!
