Subie I have a Littleguy 5 wide retro that I got on Ebay new from the distributer in Ohio. The wife and I are not big people but the 5 wide is = to queen size mattress...We had a small leak that I fixed, called the company and they sent me a check for 50 bucks to cover my problems......Its a good product , but Id stay away from the 4 foot wide models , lots of bilders here have built 4 frist and then 5 wide on their second build.........just my 2 cents.

Well... I picked it up last night. Looking forward to my first camping trip. Might even try this weekend. Head out to Deschutes State Park if the weather's decent. Need to work on my trailer backing skills. Haven't done it for some time.

A couple quick questions. What do you recommend for tire pressure? I didn't see anything in the literature. Also, do I need to repack the wheel bearings?

I just asked in the other thread if you looked at it. Congrats on your new toy. What generator did it have?

Bought it without the generator. It was a $800 Honda generator. Seller decided to keep the generator for future camping. I've never really found the need for a generator.

Got a bunch of free Subie stuff from the sellers roommate who works for SOA.

Interesting. I can live with Toyota/Subaru. As long as it's like Ford/Volvo I'm okay with it. Toyota has lot's of $$$ for R&D and marketing. They've certainly done a good job with the hybrid hype. (I'll take a diesel any day.) My only concern is if Subaru moves away from the boxer engine with codeveloped platforms or Toyota platforms.

One thing that Toyota can do is give Subie more visability in the sunbelt. I know that they are very popular in Northern climates but they are still a novelty in the South. I see more Corvettes than Subaru (all models combined) on any given day.

I have a little guy. I bout a 4-wide cargo, so I could do the interior my way.

$2900 for a 4-wide Retro is a reasonable price. I gotta wonder about the dealer quote for a new one beating that. The MSRP for a 4-wide Retro is about $3900, I believe.

You should have no problem towing a LG 4-wide with your subby. I pull mine with an Audi A4, and hardly notice it back there.

Subbys have a cult-like following down here, but then again, there are not a lot of Audis down here in the land of little weather.

Subaru sends us cars (I work for a car mag) on a regular basis. We just had a new STi, and it didn't have the batmobile wing, so I felt okay driving it. A buddy of mine has the Forrester with the 2.5 STi motor, and a bunch of mods. He goes to track days with us, and it's fun to watch the big wagon lean throught the corners, but stay pretty much with us.

I got it for 2700 which I felt was fair. Dealer was a 1000 more, although I probably could have gotten something closer to 3000. Sticker for a new one is $5k.

Subies are a good tow vehicle. I've had a number over the years. My favorite was 93 2.2 turbo wagon. That car was fast. No turbo lag. Only problem was the auto tranny wasn't really up to the power. Actually just needed more tranny cooling. I sold the car before it needed a new tranny.

The Sti limited is nice. As much as I like the WRX it's also rated 4th on the most expensive cars to insure. I'll stick with my old Miata for fun on the back roads.

LOL, my previous "track toy" was a Miata. It was too nice, thought, to really get agressive on the track with. I plan to buy another one -- one that's in rough shape that I can buy cheap -- to make my next track dog out of. That way I can gut it, put a full roll cage in it, and go all-out on the track.
