Hello from Michigan

Postby J.C. » Sun Jun 17, 2007 2:12 pm

:shake hands: Guess I'll introduce myself.

My name is John Christiansen. I go by JC everywhere, even at home. If my wife answers the phone and they ask for John, she knows it's a telemarketer or someone else that I don't want to talk to and hangs up. It's a great system.

I can't remember when I joined here, but have come around some since then to get ideas for my last project, which is now completed.....

.....so I am searching for the next one.

I enjoy the vintage trailer scene the most and am looking for the next trailer to rebuild. If I find just the right one I will jump in with both feet. Though I live in central Michigan and vintage trailers seem to be for sale around every corner, it seems that nothing really unique has popped up in a long time.

So I think I will poke around here for a bit and maybe the urge to try my hand at a teardrop will hit me. Even if it doesn't I enjoy reading the post and viewing some of the creativity that exist here.

Thanks,
J.C.

Oh, I tried to post something like this earlier, but forgot to put anything in the subject line and it didn't post, "yet". Hope I don't end up with two intros

Stunning work, JC, and nicely recorded for posterity.

I can see that the forum should locate for you a historic teardrop that needs lots of love.....

I just got done reading through 9 pages of work on your web site.

All I can say is...WOW!

:applause:   :beautiful:

And I'm worried about cutting a computer generated profile on a flat piece of new plywood! I should be so lucky!

J.C.: :)

I am in total agreement with Andrew and all who have exclaimed pleasure at
seeing your Re-Build from start to finish. Your pictorial views are such a pleasure
to follow and shows just how much effort you put into the Silver Dome. I really
enjoyed your choice of the red & green colors and the retro fabrics as well
as your attention to detail on so, so many facets of your Re-creative journey.

J.C. ... Your labor of love surely exudes a mans journey to bring back to life
a time gone by, in your stylish traveling classic trailer.

You surely have done yourself proud~ :applause:

JC, that sure was a real effort and the results are stunning. You must work with your tools in one hand and a camera in the other. You just can't take too many pics. You have inspired me to press on and complete the interior of my 10 ft 64 Kenskill Standy. I only hope it turns out 1/2 as nice as yours did. Very few are willing to spend so much time and money to restore a true classic. Good for you. Enjoy every camping trip you take, and be prepared to beat off onlookers with a stick.
