Jumping into the Teardrop world. Going to build a 5 x 10 TD based on the Generic Benoy Plans. Still in the early stages... lots to learn. This weekend I cut the profile out of cardboard and built a life size model http://www.kencamozzi.com

My wife and I are excited about building a TD, at least I think she is--LOL

Howdy Ken and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are ready to go. I Think a 5x10 will be more than adequate. I am 6'3" and 225# and I have a 4x8 Kit style trailer and don't have a problem at all. Enjoy your build. I am sure you will find a lot of help and information if you need it from the forum. Just got back from Mendocino where Lee had a great TD gathering. Jerry

Hello Ken! My wife was dubious when I decided to build... now she seems eager to see it finished! (... or maybe just wants her parking spot in the garage back!) Good luck! --49er Vic

Even though my wife saw the RV crazy video and knew what a tear was, she just couldn't picture it during the build. She thought it, "Looks like a bunch of sticks." After she saw one in person, she was able to see it. In the course of a year, we've literally taken ours coast to coast North to South. Northern California on the Pacific Side and Central Florida on the Atlantic side.

Good luck and keep up the CAD (Cardboard Aided Design). It will give you a better understanding of the scale of things.
