Need to finish a lot of other things first, but want to build a 'Scotty Jr' in the next couple years. First sketch is in album.

Want to keep it small and light...

Some great work being done here, inspiring, helpful, thoughtfull...THANKS! :applause:

Welcome to the forum Marty! That's a cute little trailer plan. I see you too are from Chicagoland like a few others here. If you are free the first weekend in Oct, you should plan to try to come out to Shabonna State Park near DeKalb. A group of about 15 will be there, some with TDs and some with other camping devices. It promises to be a good time and give you a chance to meet some of us locals. There is a thread under midwest gatherings for more info or you can PM me. Welcome again

Welcome Marty. Like your design. If you have not had the opportunity yet, you may want to look under "Design Library". Andrew has plans for a 50's style 12' Scotty. One design I have considered for my second build.

Thanks Carol, I am a Bears season ticket holder, so my fall weekends are very busy. Marty

Thanks Larry,
I've read in great detail most of this forum. The rimple was the starting point for my sketch.

Here are my design goals...
- Light weight
- Small, under 7' height, 9' length and 6' width. Must fit in my garage due to association rules
- Almost standing height
- Removable galley for hauling. Galley in rear with hatch door
- Fit on folding HF trailer like the Puffin, but a 3" narrower overall.

I have a Sportmobile, so I can camp already, but very cramped for 5 of us. A small canned ham would suppliment our camping needs.

Marty. :)

Marty:

We also have a camper van ,Roadtrek 170, we use for much of our camping. My wife prefers the teardrop over the van. If you look in my file under larryl we have a pic of the TD being pulled by the Roadtrek.

The TD is towed whenever we have children or grandchildren camping with us.
