Found this site today while searching for DIY small campers, and have spent most of the evening lurking. Looking to do something instead of a tent on my Jeepin' outings, and a TD looks like it'll fit the bill nicely. Now to figure out what design i like best.

Welcome to the forum.
Where are you from.
There maybe someone from the forum that is near to show you the trailer they have built. Or even a gathering near you soon that you could attend to see what is being built and where to get items.
You have been looking just today only you have a lot of information to gather to build or buy. Just ask questions and the search functions at the top of each page and sdtripper2's index at the top also.
And a Miram and Madjack say Pictures pictures pictures.
Enjoy your endever a lot of good people here and LOTS of ideas and advise.

Bevis, you have come to the right place. Welcome to the board, and remember, ask any questions you want. I assume you are planning to build a teardrop, and not buy one. So, check out the many construction pics and the completed trailers in the Hall of Fame. Things to consider are:

How long, how wide, covered with what, or maybe a woody, things needed in the galley, need for a tongue box, possible AC unit, fender design, insulate or no insulation, just to name a few.

Everyone's teardrop is individually different. Try to visit a Floridian tear owner or check out a nearby gathering and see what a real teardrop looks like. These folks are the friendliest group of campers and builders that you will ever meet. Remember, take pics of your build and post them. We are looking forward to hearing that you are starting your teardrop project as soon as you decide on what your first one will look like. Yes, first one, because you see, you can't build just one...........so I'm told.

Roly, one done, one in progress and more on the plan bench.

Image to the playground Bevis. Take your time and look around. When you make up your mind then you can start making all the other decisions that get in the way of progress. 8)

Welcome to the group.

As you can see they are hungry for pics.

Now about the design took me two years to figure that out then three to four changes during the construction.

So best of luck
