Hello from Utah

Postby TENNJIM » Wed Oct 17, 2007 4:15 pm

8) Looks like I got the cart before the horse, the teardrop before the TV, and the posting before introducing myself. My name is Jim Bright, and I am an East Tennessee boy in Utah since 1975. I am single, 6'-2", 180 lbs, 62, Baptist, and vote for whoever I *#@* well please. I enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, golfing, snowshoeing, drinking Jack Daniels and chasing women-not necessarily in that order. I looked at building a teardrop, but decided I didn't want to wait on me to finish it before starting to enjoy the lifestyle. In October 2006, I ordered a Hunter LongShadow out of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho and added some of my own ideas to it. It is a good unit with a lot of features for the bucks. We have logged about 6500 miles to date in 2007 including Hanksville/Utah, 2nd ITG, Great Oregon Camp In, Arizona Roundup and others. The teardrop proudly and affectionately carries a tag and the name BUTTHUT after my daughter commented that my butt was all I could get in it. :R Looking forward to more posting and getting to better know you fine folks.

Image Welcome to the playground Jim. Getting the cart before the horse is part to the fun around here. No particular order needed.

Ok, one order is needed---first you join, then you :pictures: :pictures: :pictures:

Enjoy

Thank you Sam. I don't even have a picture of that nametag. I remember you well in Hanksville and have enjoyed your postings in the Salty Teardrops. I hope to make Bryce canyon and understand we need to reserve spots now. Take care.

Jim,

Welcome! That's a really nice looking tear you got there. Love the tag too!

Question on the table. Did it come with the woodgrain or is that an add on and are they affixed or removable? Reason I ask is it looks like one we have other than the Masonite(?) top and seat covers. I like ours for the small area it takes up in storage but am always a bit uneasy sitting down as the seats give under my 200+ pounds a bit more than feels comfortable.

Thank you. The table came with woodgrain and is all steel with white enamel paint. The woodgrain is bolted on. It folds up and stores well but is heavy-won't blow away in the wind. It was acquired with S&H Green Stamps late 70's vintage. The tag on it says Cabela's. George Thornton has two of these type tables older than mine. We compared them at the 2nd ITG in Minden, NE.

Jim,
Thanks for the reply. Sounds like ours is a much younger sibling as it is made out of plastic and aluminum. Set up it looks very much like the visible white part of yours in the picture. Think I am going to see if I can add some kind of seat pad/toping of a stronger material and keep my eyes open for one like yours.

Thanks again.
