Michigan wannabe

Postby BPACH » Fri Oct 26, 2007 7:15 am

I have been lurking around for a couple of years enjoying all the posts and information. I figured it was time I came out into the light. My name is Brian and I live in Big Rapids, Michigan. I am hoping to build my first tiny trailer this winter. I think I am going to start with the "Weekender" design as it seems to fit my needs the best. My plan is to mount a rack on top to carry my kayaks for my wife and I and get out and enjoy the back woods. I am sure that I will be bugging you with questions as I go along, but you can rest assured that I know how to use the search button.

Welcome Brian,

Since you're not new here, I guess I should tell you to just jump into the conversation, ask questions and when you start your build, post lots of pictures.

See you around.

Good to have you aboard, Brian, expect to hear from some of your fellow Michiganiers (is that a word?) as soon as they see your post. First you look at the gallery pics, then start sketching, changing and sketching again. Now gather the tools, supplies, trailer frame and all of the other stuff and before you know it, you will be a proud owner/builder of a fine tiny travel trailer. There are a bunch of canoe folks here as well. Expect to hear from them too. Take pics of your efforts, post em and we'll see you at one of the trailer gatherings someday.

Roly

Brian,
Welcome to the forum. Your project will surely fill up some cold, long nights in the "Wolverine" I was born way up in Traverse City and I been heading south one state at a time ever since. Ha!

Welcome Michigan Wannabe

Brian, we are only an hour from BR in Rockford MI. My husband, Jack and I are Ferris Grads. We drive up each summer to play golf a Katke. We aren't as handy with the tools, so we purchased a TearDrop from Camp-Inn and picked her up in July. We have been up your way and camped at Pioneer Park to ride the White Pine Trail. :)

Brian,

Welcome to the for... wha... you've been lurking for two years already? :? Shame on you! Well, you've got a lot of posting to do to catch up.

And you've gotta start by telling us what you've learned in two years, and if you already built something, or if you've just been dreaming.

Oh, all right, Belated welcome to the forum!!!

Mike...
