Wish I would have found this forum 2 years ago!

No TD for me (yet), as my requirements were/are:

1. Offroad
2. Less than 1K dry
3. Sleeps 4 + a 100lb dog (the tough requirement)
4. 15-20 gal water storage capacity
5. Standing room.
6. Low height when towing (drag, and to avoid being tipped into rocks/trees)

Trailer #1: A 4x8 HF, shortened to 4x4, and with a 2000lb axle (to get 5x4.5 bolt pattern tires). Built a bed for stuff - just threw the tent, coolers, etc in there. Needed something bigger than just the jeep. Think M416 full of camping stuff.

Got tired of sleeping on the ground, took a bit-o-time and came up with trailer #2:

A pic to get idea of it's really small size (5x6) and the TV:

Now I'm tired of the tent, looking to do something hardside. Guessin I'll make a few designs and post for comments.

Wayyy cool rig you got there! I've never seen a hard-top tent like that. Glad you found your way here.

You going to join us in Death Valley over New Years? You look like the Death Valley type.

Maybe on DV.. I need to get permission from SWMBO.

The pics I posted are from Anza-Borrego desert state park.

It was a decent design for desert. Beach campgrounds gets way too much condensation (it literally rains inside)

Welcome to the site, and that is some rig you got there. Check out this site that you might be interested in.

Also this guy that I met at a recent rally. He owns his mom and dad's jeep/teardrop. The family movie links at the bottom of the page are way cool.

Way cool. The real old flatfender in the pics is totally cool.

I live in Mission Viejo.

And what's it called? TinyTentTrailer right now. Wife calls it "House projects that didn't get done" :)

Thinking hard about trailer #3 - want no tent. It rains inside at the beach (condensation real bad, even with the windows open)
