Hi,

My name is Michele. I compete in organized dog sports (flyball, agility) so I need the ability to travel with my dogs. Staying in hotels or buying a commercial RV is not an option for me for various reasons. So I am looking into building my own travel trailer. I have been reading this forum for several months and I have been inspired by the women builders here, especially Joanne and her Desert Dawg. I live fairly close to Dale and I went to see his Squidget this past weekend. Wow, what a nice trailer! Although his profile and floor plan do not suit my needs, I purchased a set of his plans to use as a building guide. The plans are extremely well done and very detailed. I highly recommend them. www.thesquidget.com My next step is to draw plans that suit my needs. Righ now, I'm leaning towards something similar to Steve's Puffin. I will post pictures and progress as they become available. Any advise anyone has is greatly appreciated. Thank you all for all of the wonderful information on this forum.

Good luck! Post some flyball action pics when you get a chance. Lots of dog peops here.

My Samoyed and I went across country, and back, in a Miata (took 6 weeks) and had to stay in hotels and cabins all the way. It is tedious to unload the car, even a little Miata, because you have to be concerned about parking lot thieves. The convenience of the teardrop, especially for the one-night stays in transit, was a compelling argument for me to go ahead.

Didn't build mine, though, admire those who do.

Look forward to seeing your td project go forward.

to the playground Michele. We have lots of dog lovers and even a few trainers here. The puffin is a great TTT and I think also the Escape hatch would work well for the purpose. You just need some adjustment for the pups to sleep in.

Enjoy and please keep us in touch with what you are doing. :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: Keeps the bubble oil level and if you ever have a hard question, makes it easier to explain.

Hi Michele,

Welcome to the forum. As you have seen, we have a lot of women builders here. If we can help, just ask. And be sure and post those pictures.

See you around.
