Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hello
My name is Rick, I live in Irrigon Oregon.(try and find that on a map)
I have been floating around here for a bit and I decided to join. Don't know if I am going to try to build a teardrop but I am looking into it. I have the Generic plans you guys have and they look great.
What is the smallest car that can pull a teardrop? I am thinking about some stuff but I am just looking around.

just so you all know I have the beginnings. I have an old snowmobile trailer to start with. It was built in the early to mid 70's. It is kinda tall but it is a start.
I have an 99 chevy Astro and a 96 Geo Metro. Also a 80 Pontiac Trans am.
I am trying to plan what I am going to do. I am tired of tenting it. At 42 a tent just doesn't cut it for me.
So I am looking into other idea's.

Welcome Rick!

It all depends on the weight of the trailer. Some folks pull theirs with small economy cars no problem. Just check the manufacturer's tow rating for your particular vehicle(s).

If you search the forum, you'll find all sorts of great tips for buildings light weight trailers. Here's a good place to start:

to the playground Rick. I wouldn't do it with the Metro. The Astro and Trans Am should have no trouble with a normal build.

Pictures go a long way to explaining and Keeping the bubble oil level.

Thanks guys. I know that pics are invaluable. I also know that pics are the greatest asset to these boards.

Hi Rick,

Welcome to the forum. If you look at the "Hall of Fame", you might get some ideas on trailers you could build, that will work with your TV. Just be careful and watch your weight as you build. The lighter the better.
