Just in from Burlingame Calif

Postby Gene C » Thu Jun 05, 2008 12:51 am

Hi everyone
My name is Gene and I live in Burlingame Calif about 15 mi south of San Francisco I just found this website while viewing one of my dunebuggy websites. I presently have a 62' Meyers Manx Dunbuggy named "Gadget" which is the driver for My teardrop " Relaxo"
I have attended one TD get together in Clearlake which I had a blast and then lost contact. Relaxo I bought from a retired couple near my house and I fell in love and bought it at first sight. I love to add gadgets and gizmos which I have a few. Relaxo always seems to have a waiting line to view it when ever I return to camp on a trip
here are a few pics

Hey welcome to the forum.

Interesting teardrop you got there. Do you know if it is a homebuilt?

Mike...
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Yes, It is homebuilt
The guy I bought it from made it in the 60's and pretty much had it in show shape when I got it.He infortunately was loosing his eyesight.
I got it complete for $2500 about 6 years ago
I had to convert over to use it shape ( modernize it a little and store all the old pots pans etc.
He hand made two logo's "Relaxo"
It's cute

Hi Gene,

Welcome to the forum. " Relaxo " is one cool looking trailer. And for being built in the 60's, it looks to be in great shape. Glad you posted the pictures.

See you around.

Nice trailer and buggy!
I built plastic models of the Manx and other dune buggies in my teen years back about 1968 (yeah, I'm old!). The Manx was always my favorite buggy design. It just looks "right"! Very cool!
If I remember, my model was yellow with a "bundle of snakes" exhaust painted flat white. I thought it was cool, and wished I had a real one!
