A NEW-BIE from PHILL-E

Postby 5Belair7 » Fri Sep 26, 2008 10:00 pm

Hello All
My name is Glen and I reside just outside of Philadelphia in Delaware County (PA).

I have always liked anything nostalgic, especially 50's and have 2 1957 Chevys, one a red 2 door hardtop belair and one 4 door hardtop Belair (Dusk Pearl).

I have always loved TD's since seeing a special on the history channell about them a couple years ago.. So when I recntly spotted one for sale on Craigs List a half hour away from my home,....welll...the rest is history. Its now sitting in my driveway!

My plan is to ad a hitch to my 4 door 57 and take the TD to local all day shows and fleamarkets where I can show it and share it with others who will find these TD's as interseting as I have. Im also looking forward to making myself some lunch and actually using it at these shows.and who knows...maybe take a few short camping trips as well.

The title lists it as a "1956"...and although it says its a "special construction" I was hoping that maybe someone would recognize what make it is or is it just a Home Built" type unit?

The Galley is all stainless steel with a sink. Anyone that may have any ideas of what it is I would appreciate you dropping me a line. This trailer was originally from California so maybe someone may even recognize it from a previous owner!!...lol

Im looking forward to stopping in on the website to share some stories. Take care and Thanks!!

Glen

P.S. (I hope the photo comes through)

You need to save the pic to your hard drive then upload it to the site. Your camera can't host a pic for the internet.

Welcome aboard...check the upper heading "help with photos" but maybe you have done that. A tear behind a 57 will be nice. I've got a 59 Rambler Cross Country and can pull any of 3 tears behind it...if it only had the guts for the freeway and hills....sigh.....Doug

Welcome to the forum. We'd love to see the photos. But you have to make sure it's 640x480, and then upload it to your album here. For more help, like Doug said, read the "help with photos" up there in the menu! ;)

Trying this again

Postby 5Belair7 » Sat Sep 27, 2008 11:28 pm

OK....let me try this photo thing again...I first listed it to my album this time.
Again....I know this is a 1956 TD but do not know the make. If anyone can tell me what it is I would be very grateful. Also, it is from California, so does anyone recognize it as a prvious owner possibly? The Galley is all stainless steel.

Thanks for taking the time
Glen

Glen

I'm from Morton.

There are 5 of us in Delco. 2 in Morton, one in Folcroft, one in Brookhaven and another in Media.

Welcome. :applause:

If your trailer has 13" wheels and if the kitchen was modified I'd say you have a Scad-A-Bout.

But there are to many differences to say for sure.

BTW that TearJerkers Rally Oct 11 & 12 isn't very far from us.

Hi and welcome!
Have you ever come to the right place!

I lived up in Bloomsburg for a couple years, after living in OH. That was just a litttttttttlle while ago.

Your cars sound great. Love pearl paint.
The trailer is a cute one. Love the all-stainless galley! Is their much/any hidden work to do on it or is the plywood, etc, in good shape?
Boy I love that galley. Advertising has always been a favorite art form of mine. I'd be getting a Nathan's Hot Dog vintage style tin, coke, ice cream, etc. hmmmmmm

Enjoy!
