Thought I'd say hi!. My wife and I have enjoyed camping for years now, but sleeping in a tent is getting harder on me. I saw a "Little Guy" at Gander Mountian and thought it would be great until I saw the sticker. I'm planning on building a 5x8 tear drop starting late winter '09 so I joined so that I could learn from others.

Wheres Salladasburg? We are in Altoona Pa. Built our Tear last summer and took the winter off and finished her up this summer. Take your time planning before you start building. And make plenty of sketches. Once you get started it wont take you any time at all.
Your going to love the satisfaction of building your own Tear.

Welcome to another Pennsylvanian! I'm in Centre Hall in Centre County (Non-PA folks: Yes, it's spelled with an "re" not "er"). I've been through Salladasburg on the way to Wellsboro, heading up route 287. Beautiful country up that way! Good luck with your build. There is a wealth of info on this forum!

to the playground Roy. Sounds like you have a firm TD in your mind. Look around and make lots of notes. Collect lots of pictures too. They really help remind you what you were thinking a month later.

And be sure to take lots of to keep the bubble oil level and the MadOnes happy.

Take pics, post em, then join in on the fun when you meet other trailer folks who also enjoy the delights of camping. Good luck on your build, ask questions if you like.......we have the answers.

I can empathize with that. Just got out of the tent this year. At my age, gravity helps you get in bed at night; but it sure don't help getting up in the morning!!
