Bill:

If you are two people that are thin than maybe a 4 foot wide trailer by say 8
foot long would be a right choice for you? If your going to be a lone rider
than a 4 foot trailer will work fine and the costs go down as many have
attested here on the forum.

Given most of the time the council here is for a 5 foot wide trailer, in your
situation that seems leaning towards Spartan and most likely one person
sleeping. You could think about a 4 foot wide by say 8 ~ 10 long trailer?

I do like the "trailer for two" in Andrew's plans. In my case the door might need to be a bit larger. I plan to incorporate some sort of hatch in case I have to leave in a hurry. That could be at the rear of the unit and would also be a storage area for the cooler I mentioned.
I have been looking at a few web sites and think that I either get a ready-made trailer frame/axle set up or at least get good plans and have a local welding shop do the fabrication.

Bill there is a trailer tutorial in the menu above that can be adjusted for size.

Rich and Doug did the tutorial and it is good. Good luck!

Bill: 8)

Some more thinking on your trailer frame ~ Go here and read the top section of this post
for more info on axle spacing for doors and tongue weight considerations. Look to this formula
of Andrews for your deliberative understanding. BTW technical questions on trailer frame design
have been satisfied by Andrew and others that have Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills, on this forum.
you might direct questions on trailer frame build, buy or design to the
"Trailer and Chassis Secrets" part of the forum.

Have you thought about what type of axle you would like to have?

After your decision on trailer frame and axle placement:
As most will suggest always take into consideration when your plans are
formulated about trailer weight. There are threads on this subject and
advice is at hand real time. As an example 2by4 construction for the trailer
isn't recommended as it weighs too much. Think about your trailer backuP skills
and weight means a hand push into place if the trailer is light.

Bill ~ You can see there are separate forums here for specific questions
and so when you get around move your thoughts to one of those that best
represent your questions. Many people don't follow the Newbie section as
close and so more input can be found on these other locations. There is a
wealth of knowledge here based on experience and so you will be in good
hands. So enjoy your preparation and reading and ask away. We do have
a charge as you may know and that is pictures. We likes um and sorta~
kinda~wanta see your progress as that is the life's blood of this forum.

Happy planning and dreaming ~ Bill

Steve :)
