Newbe from south Indianapolis, IN

Postby phanson » Fri Jan 09, 2009 8:18 am

I am new to new to froum, altough I have been resueashing teardrop for 3 to 4 years. I am hoping to start construction on a 6'X10' Trailer for Two profile that will silde on and off of a custom built utilty trailer. The trailer will be built with a sliding axel so it can set in middle for a tilt trailer, and slide back to balance for the teardrop. My constrution method so far will be: Cookie cutter wall section with 2" Insolation(Cold in Indiana!!!, Or I'm Geting old.), Side door consstuction will be made from modifyed alum. screen door stock and plywood, Epoxy and paint coating on outside,Wiring in PVC conduit so it canbe repaired/ added to,Dual 110V/12V system, and the galley will have small refirgerator, water and maybe an oven.
I have been reading the past post and been finding interesting ideas, but need to know more.

So let the questions begin!

Thank you in advance. Paul H. Hanson

Visit us down on the midwest section and say hi to your neighbors.
We have folks from Greenwood , Greenfield , Carmel, Marion and folks from Ohio and Southern Indiana all going camping next weekend. We will all be there Sat 1/17/09 with our home builts ~ converted Cargos ~ and commercial units. Stop in on Saturday at least long enough to say HI ! Will be plenty of chow and we would love to meet you and yours and show off our rigs.

P.S. Welcome to the Forum

Welcome Paul.

Bob Henry's invitation to the Hoosier "Shivaree" is real. There will be several campers attending the second Hoosier Chapter winter campout.

It will be held at Mounds State Park (Anderson, IN) and you should stop by to say hello if you can.

We always like to meet new teardroppers and campers.

The statistical average temperatures for Jan 15-17 is 31F/16F. The forcast calls for temperatures around 20-25F/10-13F.

So much for global warming (at least in January).

Image to the playground Paul. Sounds like you have a plan. If you can stand the weather---you really should find the Shivering club. I hear their "drinks" froze last year. 8) There is nothing like seeing one and more than one design in one place is a great learning experience.

Have fun and please indulge our need to keep the bubble oil level with lots of :pictures: :pictures: :pictures:

Paul
Welcome to the fun. It is an addiction for some...most...all of us. You will probably get most if not all your questions answered here, sometimes several times over. but that makes it very cool! Lots of ideas from different angles. By the way, I am in Greenwood if I can help you in any way. On my third build, if you count my cargo conversion. Pm me for contact info. Or see you at Mounds state park.

Hello Paul.
Welcome to the fun, Looks like you've got a warm welcome already from some of the Hoosier crowd.
I'm from Greenfield so not far from you.
Yep I'm one of the crazies camping next weekend also.
If you don't get a chance to stop by and see us you might think of attending the gathering in May at Raccoon Lake (check out the midwest section for details) Even if the tear isn't done just grab a tent and come along everyone's welcome.
Keep us posted on your progress and don't forget the pictures.

That's the wildest thing to have your drink slush up in the bottle while holding it in your hand. I had to put stuff in the cooler to keep it from freezing. I guess it save on ice.
