New member looking for ideas to build "novice" tea

Postby DustinMoore » Sat Jan 10, 2009 4:08 am

Hello,

My name is Dustin and I am looking to create an inexpensive teardop that requires minnimal technical or mechanical kmowledge such as welding or machining.

If anybody has some time to point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it...

I was thinking about wood construction built over a harbor freight trailer (Suggestions please)

Welcome to the board Dustin. A good starting point would be the "Generic Benroy Plans" found at the top of the page. Download it and read through it, then start asking questions and you should get the info that you need. The Generic Benroy plans can easily be modified to suit your needs.

Your tear can be as inexpensive as you want really, Mines made from a lot of recycled items that cost me nothing. And as far as welding and machining knowledge I've got 0

You'll be fine just keep reading, there's a wealth of knowledge on here.
Just don't forget the pictures 8)

GO BACK, DUSTIN! GO BACK! IT"S A TRICK! They start out offering help and encouragement, but that only holds until you're HOOKED.
Go back. Don't talk to anyone, don't read anything, and above all don't look at anything. Don't drink the Kool-Aid. People's minds have been sullied, and their shops completely taken over.
OOooh.... look at all the trailers. Look at 'em SPARKLE........ Ooooh, LOOKY HERE...
Aw, Heck Dustin, jump right in. Clearly, it is already too late for YOU.....

Welcome to the forum, Dustin. As you can see, we are very straight-laced and all business. We never joke around, and always try to discourage newcomers...........Not.

Be sure to ask questions, then start your build and take pics as you go along. Good luck.
