I just bought a Little Guy (great timing for Michigan, huh?)

This is the place where you can introduce yourself, and include a photo if so desired.

Hiker Chick,
Love your handle.
Thanks for the compliment on the graphics. I'm not worried about anyone stealing it because, heck, I'm from the Detroit area. We don't have crime out here like you people on the East Coast do. But, just in case I leave the Midwest, I'm buying from Little Guy one of those Teardrop Locks (aka The Claw) Image, which you can see at http://www.golittleguy.com/cms/content/view/94/166/. I think Little Guy said the makers of The Club put this product together for them (although I could be wrong about that). For $99.99, it should at minimum make amatuer thieves think twice about messing with it.
Regarding how my 6-foot-wide LG will handle in the snow, I'm not planning on trying it in the snow out very often, if ever. I just hope the weather will be good when I pick it up next month.
I'm a little colorblind. Is your TD green? Whatever color it is is cool. Do you ride your bike along the Canal? (My late brother was from Potomac, MD).
Take care.

Boodro,
Sylvania is not too far from here...about 75 miles, and it would be on my way back from Little Guy. I'll see how my schedule looks when I eventually figure out a pickup date.
Did you build your TD? Looks cool.
And thanks for the invite to camp with you people from "down south" in Ohio. I might just take you up on that. Please let me know if you have any events not far from Toledo next year and I'll try to pop down.

Miriam,
Thanks for the welcome. I appreciate a fellow Missourian contacting me. I was born in St. Louis and only lived there for 3 years but we had a summer place out on the Merrimac River so we drove down from Iowa every month or so during the warmer months.
Take care.

Yes, I had my LG painted "Galapagos Green Metallic" to match my Honda Element.

We spend a lot of time on the C&O Canal -- parking at Old Angler's Inn and bikejoring or hiking, usually west (Billy Goat Trail, most memorably). My dog is always disappointed when we turn around and fail to reach Ohio. Here's a pic from a couple weeks ago, near the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center.

My brother used to love to jog down by the canal before he became pretty sick from his cancer. It was only a short drive from his house. In his final couple years (he died in August of this year), I think he found it comforting to drive down there, read a paper, and watch the people go by. Beautiful setting. You are lucky to have a wonderful place like that to go to.

My deepeest sympathies on the loss of your brother.

The C&O is a beautiful and peaceful place. Perhaps we crossed paths.

We will be out there again soon and I will think of him when we see a runner.

I picked up my Little Guy 6-Wide last weekend!

Postby Karl » Sun Jan 11, 2009 12:13 pm

I finally picked up my Little Guy 6-Wide Teardrop last weekend. Yes, at last, I am finally a Teardrop trailer owner! :wine party:

Image

Above: Shows my Little Guy 6-Wide Platform with the Classic Package and the Spirit of America Graphics Package...the latter being a tribute to all the soldiers who have served our country over the last couple centuries.
On the way back to the Detroit area from North Canton, Ohio, people were coming up and gawking at my TD every time I stopped somewhere. And, it wasn't uncommon for people to adjust their speeds to match mine as they passed me on the highway (or I passed them) so they could check out this Little Guy trailer for a moment. Darn, I was hoping to blend in with the crowd with this inconspicuous TD. :rofl2:
Do you like those Fiberglass Retro Fenders with the Bullet Lights? Way cool! 8)

Image

Above: Scott Hubble, Little Guy's Director of Strategic Solutions and his daughter greeted me last Saturday and made sure everything was perfect regarding my new TD.

Image

Above: Even Little Guy President, Joe Kicos, came in to work on a Saturday to talk with me and show me a few of the finer points of my new TD.

I am VERY, VERY impressed with Little Guy's staff and products. They are a top-notch organization and made buying my TD not just easy but a lot of fun too. They are TD enthusiasts and it shows in the quality of their product and the way they live and breathe Teardrops. Not to make this post into too much of a commercial, but...if you don't want to build your own TD, you really should look at what Little Guy makes since you will be very impressed with their craftsmanship and their service.

I was thinking that I would have to wait a few months to use my TD but I ran across an article on the Internet that said there are 17 State Parks here in Michigan that are open during the winter. :snowstorm:
Any single female TD owners out there wanna go camping? ;) :shake hands: I'll bring the hot chocolate!

Congrats!!

I would imagine you'll be getting thousands of thumbs-up driving that patriot-mobile down the road.

Good luck finding a camping companion up there right now. But there ought to be some hardy Arctic-types up there.

Perhaps we'll see you on the next e-harmony commercial.

 :applause:

Why not eTeardrops.com??? I've been going to Weight Watchers meetings for almost a year now. I've dated several of the ladies in my class over that time. Weight Watchers = Mate Watchers!!! Alas.... no campers in the bunch!!

Sorry to hear that campers have gone-a-missin' in your Mate Watchers class. Maybe you need to pull your TD over to a meeting some time since you never know what the reaction might be. And if you did a full BBQ meal from your galley, you might really impress those hot babes in Mississippi. You don't think Mate Watchers would mind if you did that in their parking lot after one of their meetings, do you?? <g>

Speaking of Mississippi, I see you're from Olive Branch,, huh? I used to travel on business not too far from you in Hamilton. Super-nice people down in your part of the country with all the "Yes Ma'am" and "Yes Sir" type of talk to any adult of any age. Hamilton is where I first had biscuits with chocolate gravy for breakfast. Wow, was I in heaven! I don't think a breakfast like that would have been approved by Weight Watchers, I mean Mate Watchers.

Getting back to eTeardrops.com, should we ask Mike to put up a separate section of this forum devoted solely to bringing together singles who are looking for romance with other teardrop owners? We'll have him do a video explaining how he matches up personality types based on the type of TD a person has and how he takes into account various camping habits that may affect compatibility. Nothing personal but I just hope it won't be only you and me in that dating forum!
 :rofl2:
