Finally introducing myself!

Postby Jusso » Fri Feb 13, 2009 4:52 am

Hi!

I’ve been looking (on this site) and building a camper for while. I thought it was time to introduce myself but more so what I have been building

What I have been building is a off road weekendish shape slide out queen bed, slide out single bad, slide out kitchen (outside) and a pop top roof camper!

It is a big job but have been loving every minute of it. I have pinched lots of ideas from alot of the threads on this site. (I hope people dont mind)

Great website! Hope to interact more soon.

Here is a pic of the side profile. It was very windy that day so I was struggling to hold the side in place. But it should give an idea of what it will be like.

These are the linear bearing I will be using for the slide outs. They are good for about 100kg each (220lb).

Welcome to the forum, Jusso. :D
Your build looks good. Keep it up, you'll be camping in no time.
I just remembered it's summer there in Oz.

Welcome! I'm dying to see the drawings for this one! I see a small dropdown in the front half, and you say "Slideouts", and my curiosity is just about to do me in! Many more pictures, please!
God Bless

Good Day, Mate. Nice to have you aboard. However, I have a few questions. You mentioned a slide out queen bed, a slide out single bed, a slide out kitchen and a pop top roof. This I gotta see. You are in the midst of building an absolutely one of a kind trailer that we are all eagerly waiting to see pictures of. With 3 slides, I am a bit in the dark of what it looks like. So, just sketch your ideas, post em and I will be able to go to sleep understanding what you have in mind. Good luck on your build. I'll check in tomorrow to see your construction pics and explainations of the three slides and exactly what you propose to build.

Good for you, thinking out of the box, and if you build what you have proposed, you may be designing an entirely new kind of camping trailer. Nothing wrong with that, some of us out-of-the-boxers have done the same thing. No one has thrown rocks at us so far.............
Roly  8)

Sorry for the late replay. My wife wanted a bed built for my daughter so it has been 100% commitment to the “bed project” but now it is finished, so the camper is now the my focus.

For the this pic the single bed slides out from the front, The kitchen slides out from the side and the Queen bed slides out from the back.
The additions are not to scale but it should give an idea.

As I build more of the project I will post an update in the “members design” section, that if I’m allowed out of the newbies section?
