The popups that are salvaged on this site all have those fold out beds. See how they work. If it were me, I would make that fold out bed very sturdy and use it all the time. Building a bed every night is a PITA to me. That's why I love the VW camper (bedroom) and the Puck (living/dining) together.

I had a pop up once. Most pop up beds slide out from the body. I am interested in the kind that is in the new hybrid hard side trailers with fold out beds. Replicating their technology may be difficult for this do-it-yourselfer but I am sure I can figure out a simple way.
