Hello From East Texas

Hi all...my name is John, I am 63 years old. I live in East Texas.

Camping has been one of my hobbies all my life, always with a tent. Since I have grown older it seems the ground is getting harder and the rain getting wetter, so after careful consideration I have decided to build a camper.

I have been looking at plans and such for about a year. A couple of weeks ago at a ham radio meeting a friend mine mentioned he was building a teardrop. I guess it's time for me to build. I can't let him get ahead of me .

I'll be be deciding on a plan with the next few weeks....

Welcome John,

Like CaseyDog said, check out the South Central section. I'm not going to be able to attend, but there is a large gathering on October 23-25 at Lake Bisteneau southeast of Shreveport. (It is called LCG IV.)

LCG III was the first big gathering I attended, and even though my wife and I didn't (and still don't) have a teardrop, everyone made us feel welcome. I was able to see a lot of different teardrops and get construction tips.
