None of the above --- I'm on a Macintosh! I have occasionally found which piece of software will make pics smaller, but I forget which it is. iPhoto, maybe.

I've been using the free version for a couple of years now, on my intel inside imac. The size icon on the bottom row works for me.

Freeware available at http://www.fotosizer.com/
Resize 1 or 100 with a few clicks. no annoying popups, no time limit, does not resize the original. Several size choices. I've been using it for a couple of years and very happy with it.
