Nebraskan camper

Postby rodtermaat » Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:10 am

I have been reading this forum for almost 2 years now. I am mostly just a lurker, but have posted a couple of times. I went back and forth about building a tear drop and still might. Right now I am working on restoring a 50's Alaskan camper. I wanted to document the build and created this little blog.

I have been reading up on electrical topics and ordered a 12v book earlier in the week. I am also interested in replacing the aluminum siding eventually, but may go for a paint job this spring to save $.

I am hopeful that you will allow me to ask a few camper related questions as I restore the beast even though it is not quite a tear drop. Some of you I met a few years back at in Minden. I was a camperless guy who wandered around for several hours. My favorite camper that day had corrugated siding and was towed by an old truck. I have been toying with that same look, but a classic aluminum finish would probably be better received by the family.

It is a wonder no one called the authorities in Minden - given that great profile picture. I will work on updating it to something a little more friendly looking.

Hi Rod,

Welcome from The Blue Ridge mountains of Boone NC.

You have a nice camper going there. I had thought about one of those, before I sold my truck...take from an old guy, NEVER sale your truck...

Post more pictures when you can.

Steve
