mac built teardrop

I still do not have a tear drop trailer. Had found one in SF a 2000 hunter shadow for 3500. It has a little bit of water damage on the side in the galley (the trim) So she did go down a couple of hundred dollars on it. (3300) But I have never towed a vehicle before and not real sure about trying to tow a vehicle in SF. the owner had offered to deliver it to me. I live 120 miles away. But that didn't happen and I am not sure a transport company will work out as she is out of town for the next 2 weeks. If I have to have it transported it will end up costing me 3600 plus cost of repair.

I have also found a tear drop a lot closer to me. It is a 1993 mac built teardrop the owner is willing to go down to 2500 on it. Except it has had a little water damage in the galley which he has sanded down and added clear gel (I don't remember what exactly it was). The inside looks good. It has a vinyl top which has a few holes caused by cats or racoons. Only thing is the vinyl is a mustard colored yellow. Other than that it looks pretty good. (I don't like the color of the Vinyl) Also does not have ac/dc just the brake/tail lights. the hunter has ac/dc.

I kind of like the mac built except hate the vinyl. I was wondering how hard it would be to get the vinyl replaced and how expensive that would be? And if they would have mauve or burgandy colored vinyl. Where I would go to to get the vinyl. I would also need to find someone to fix it as I am not skilled like that.

Be careful Kathy, there's really no such thing as a little water damage.

It is a real killer for any trailer.

Make sure you, or somebody close to you knows what there doing when it comes to a little water damage.

Not trying to spook ya.

Just be cautious.

I have a friend in NC. who did a copy of an early Runlite. He put a vinyl roof on it and it looked great. The fabric he used was a Boat Fabric.

He dipped the roof fabric well into the hatch eliminating any concerns about a hatch leak.....unless the hatch was open during a rain.

I'll look for photos.

Go down to the FOR SALE section keep look for something you want. Take your time the right trailer will come along. If it is to far away surely one of these fine folks would go look at it for you. Then you can make a road trip to buy and look for yourself. But most of us know what to look for for you. We could maybe be talked into taking pics for you if ask to. Good luck finding the right trailer it out there waiting for you.
