Howdy from central Texas

I have been lurking around for a couple of days. Wow there is a lot of info here. I initially got interested in tears about 10 years ago but never got the nerve to actually build one. Maybe it is a midlife crisis but I think it about time I get off my duff and do it. I look forward to digging deeper and maybe one day I can contribute.

Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

Welcome. There are a lot of Texas members on the forum, and we have a gathering scheduled for every month this year in our region.

Come on out and see some teardrops, and you'll find plenty of support for your build on this forum.

Hey,

Welcome to the T&TTT group from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC!

I recently "celebrated" the 20th anniversary of my 25th birthday - Think maybe mine is a little of a midlife crisis build, too! You're in good company here!

Keep us posted as to your progress!

Thanks Al. You have a great looking family there. That is one of the reasons I am going to build a TD. I am in the middle of a divorce. Thank God it is one of the most amicable in history - I hope it stays that way. Anyway I was looking for something that my daughter (age 9) and I could do together.

I am in the very beginning stages. I sat down today and made a list of the things I have to have and things I would like to have. I started reading your build thread and look forward to finishing it.

Terry,
I hope you involve your daughter as much as possible in the construction. She'll never forget it.
Hang in there, it's gunna get much better real soon.

Hey Terry,

I agree, involve your Daughter as much as you can. I have 3 little helpers, and the more help I get the slower the build goes! But, they are convinced they're building it too, and in their own way, they are!

Like you, I am really looking forward to going camping in the camper with the kids.

Hang in there! Building a camper can be great therapy, when your life is in transition. I don't know if I can recommend my build thread, as I am still new at this too, and I haven't actually finished yet. Maybe read it from the end to the beginning!

You will find a lot of good info here, friendly people, and a lot of feedback, especially when you post pictures!

Keep us posted as to your progress!
