Hi all,

First things first....I love teardrops.
It all started last summer. After going on disability, I found I had a great deal of time on my hands. So I did what I could not for 20years. Began camping, hiking, fishing. I pretty much spent all last summer traveling around the southwest.

On one of my first times out, i seen a little convoy of TD's cruzing down I-40. I thought they looked great, but being on disability, I thought i would never own one.

Then one day sitting at the lake(and misserable in my tent) a couple set up camp near us with there teardrop. I owe this fella my soon to be dream. He told me that he had made it, and given me the link to this site. Once i got home i beegan researching etc, and downloading all the plans. Now the day has come.

Over this last year i have been hitting construction sights and picking up wood stock (with there permission). Everything from large chunks of ply, to some birch ply. I also have alot of 2x2, 2x4 etc, you get the idea. Ive picked up wire, terminal block, inverters etc from craigslist. payed maybe 30.00 total for this stuff.

AND LAST NIGHT i traded a digital camcorder(extra) for a TRAILER.....
Today i used that trailer to clean my garage, and do a dump run. Ive just reorganized the garage, have tools etc ready. I will begin deconstruction of the frame tomorrow, and sand, primer and paint it this week. Next week construction starts

Ill start logging with pics and update. Hopefully I can finish it withing a month(I dont work, lol, so I can work 8 hours a day)

hope to see yall soon

Welcome to the TD forum! Once you get the teardrop built, I have a suggestion for you to meet a bunch of new teardrop friends. Organize a group gathering during the Kodak Balloon Festival in October. And Yes, that goes for you also Mandy!

cliff,

interesting suggestion of a gathering during baloon fiesta.......there are several lots which fill up with motor homes/big trailers but haven't figured out what to do with a teardrop or where space might be avail.
Agree that us folks in abq area need to get orgainzed on some level.

Welcome from another Albuquerquean!! Mandy is right, you need to come down to Cloudcroft this summer. Bring your tent if your teardrop isn't ready. Here's some pics from last year's event. http://www.flickr.com/photos/40193173@N03/sets/72157620926031053/show/ Have fun with your build.
