Hello everbody. I ran into this forum while looking for information about European trailers in the US. I am preparing a project in the US with an Eriba Touring Forever Young 310 (2009). I hope this counts as a TTT (it does in Europe, so it must certainly do in the US...)
What I am hoping to learn from this forum is what (technical and bureaucratic) preparations we need to make to this NL-registered TTT to make it useable in the US.
The project - which now aims for 2011 - is about making connections with people through hitchhiking. Not just plain old thumbs-up-and-backpack hitchhiking, but hitchhiking with the trailer. This means we will depend fully on drivers willing to take us along and share their stories with us. We hope to be able to travel coast-to-coast in about a month or month and a half time or so. Obviously we will try to get as much attention from the local and (inter)national media as possible.
We are currently doing this project in Europe, where Dutch musician Tjerk Ridder is caravan-hitchhiking from Utrecht to Istanbul in Turkey, along the three European Capitals of Culture 2010 (Germany, Hungary and Turkey), hitchhiking a total distance of about 3000 miles.
