Hi all,

Never done a teardrop before but think it's time to upgrade from the ole tent. Most of my projects have been auto related. I've been glued to reading this site for over a month so it's time to break out the tools and start a new project. I downsized with very little shop space but it's time for a project. Have really enjoyed seeing so much craftsmanship within the T&TTT forums. I'll get some photos of the build going once I get the tools unpacked and a work area cleaned out. Thanks for the support and encouragement before I get started. I have an old axle to narrow and two tires holding air........ That's a start isn't it?

DREAM CAR

Postby vetjeb » Wed Mar 10, 2010 5:53 am

Thanks Jim, The 61 corvette was my very first purchase on e-bay about 7 years ago. The car was truely a basket case in need of total restoration. After 3 years of shop time it hit the road. Owning a straight axle vet had been a dream of mine since I was 6 yrs old when I saw one in the Rocky Mountains. Needing to inject funds into my business I just recently sold the car to a man from California who drove it home from Missouri sight unseen. I offered to deliver but he got the trip I wanted to make. I will post pictures of my TD build which is going to be done on a very tight budget with parts I can readily put my hands on. I know some will say overkill to such things as my axle but narrowing the one I have (house trailer) will be overkill but it's free. I guess overkill isn't new to me, having duel quads when gas was $4. Anyway, thanks for the welcome and I hope to get showing the TD build within the week. John
