Hi from Iowa

My wife and I bought our teardrop a couple of years ago because she saw a TV show with them on it. We went to Iowa City, looked at one and bought it. Best money we have ever spent on camping gear. We have been on a few camping trips and have enjoyed every one. We are going to the UP in September for 2 wks. We can't wait. I want to try and build one but am kind of leary. I have seen a lot of things I would like to add to a new build from these forums.

Morning Frank and welcome to the forum. There are some of us gathering at Missouri's Pershing State Park next weekend. I'm not sure how far a trip that would be for you but you guys are welcome to come join us. If you can't camp consider driving down for a visit. More information here: http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33669&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Over in the Midwest area a thread on Upper Peninsula Michigan camping might interest you: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=21614&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=peninsula&start=0. We've been on both ends but never completed the loop. I would love to do that one day.

Welcome, Frank, from another Iowan.
Lots of information here if you decide to build. We first saw a teardrop at a dealer in Davenport Ia.. Got in and laid down, saw that we would be comfortable sleeping in one, so I went home and started designing and building one. We are now working on #2.
