New from Chandler, AZ

Hi all, I'm a lurker that will tend to lurk, but thought I would introduce my self since I'm about to ask a question. I'm a 30something in Chandler AZ about to start a build. I have the trailer, and the good news is that it was free! I was a work trailer for a contractor that we use, and was a dual axle that carried several tool boxes and a large welder. It weighed over 8000 lbs fully loaded. We have stripped it down to the frame, removed an axle and moved it using the guide from this forum. Thanks for that by the way!

Now, my question/problem is that the trailer is big. 78" wide and 144" long inside the wheels. I'm trying to decide on a design, and would love some input. I really like the 2+2 from the design library, and am leaning that way, but when I look at the frame I'm not convinced that it will look right on the frame. I feel like maybe this frame would look better with an off road/squared off look instead, but I'm not sure. Besides, you all have more experience with this, so I was hoping you could look at the picture (if I did that right) and tell me if you think the 2+2 would look good on it? The frame is great for a taller trailer, but max height is 5' so I can fit it in the garage.

Thanks in advance for all the help you will give me during this build!

Welcome to the fun..........

If you like to shape/layout of the 2&2, and it meets your requirements, you can modify the frame to meet the drawing spec in the design library. When it is all said and done, the frame is a small part of the trailer. On the 2&2 design, you can only see the tongue. Rest is all hidden by body panels or floor.

I'm about 90% done on my version of a 2&2.

Welcome Brian, you can always modify the chassis or the 2+2 design it is your choice. It looks like a good trailer chassis to start with. 8)

Welcome from East California (Avondale, that is! )

Your frame looks great! At 78" wide, you should be able to sleep sideways, allowing room for in indoor potty, should you desire one!
God Bless
